ABOUT ABOUT

Welcome to Yahoo! Hack Europe: London

Yahoo Developer Network (YDN) is thrilled to announce the upcoming Yahoo! Hack Europe: London on April 27-28, 2013.

This two-day hackathon brings together a wide range of engineers to come together to build out ideas they are passionate about in an atmosphere that inspires collaboration, learning and innovation using the world’s top technologies from both YDN and tech partners. This will be YDN's third hack day in London. If you want to hack in an environment where you’ll be both challenged and inspired, this is the place to be.

What it will not be is an ordinary hackathon.

In addition to the staples of swift wifi, tempting treats and sharp troubleshooters, Yahoo! Hack Europe: London will stage panel debates on emerging technology trends, host skills workshops ranging from tricks of the trade to geeky crafts, offer a variety of fun and engaging puzzles to stimulate your mind, and fuel your creativity with large-scale interactive games. If you want to hack in an environment where you’ll be both challenged and inspired, this is the place to be.

What to expect:

  • Two full days of hacking, with plenty of food, drinks, snacks and caffeine
  • High-energy, informative speaking panels and live demos
  • Workshops taught by top devs to level-up your skill sets
  • Access to a buffet of technologies from around the web
  • Hacking with world-class developers
  • Top developer-led workshops and assistance to quickly help quash bugs
  • A playground of games and toys to interact, play and hack with
  • Prizes and surprises

All of our previous hack days have filled to capacity, and since there are only a limited number of slots available, we'll ask you to tell us a bit about yourself including your technical background to ensure all participants have the technical ability to build a hack. The more details you can provide, the better chance you'll be selected to participate. This will also help you find the brightest teammates to hack with.

What happens after I complete the TicketLeap application?

Signing up on TicketLeap is the first step in the process to becoming a 2-Day Hacker at the event. The more information you can share with us about your technical abilities, the more likely it is you'll be selected to participate in the event. Applications will be processed on a rolling basis, and if selected you'll receive an invitation to join an online community where you can mingle with other coders before the hackathon begins.

What do you need to know?

Have a look at developer.yahoo.com, where you'll find YDN tech documentation and links to our latest open platforms. If selected, you will receive a confirmation email and will be added to a community site that has been set up for the event. This site will contain all the information you will need to attend and participate in the event. You will be sent an email once you've been added.

Where and When?

The event will be held on the weekend of the 27th-28th of April in Covent Garden, London.
